Maya Dokson DC
drdokson@mtviewcwc.comBiography
After graduating from Western States Chiropractic College in June 2006, Dr. Dokson opened a practice in Colorado. The doors opened in November, 2006. After almost two years of living and working in Denver, Dr. Marconi and Dr. Huynh offered Dr. Dokson a position at Mt. View Chiropractic and Wellness Center. Dr. Dokson took the opportunity to return the Pacific Northwest and to the state where she grew up. She loves the active lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest -- it fits her philosophy of practice and the kinds of patients she really enjoys working with. Although she does not limit her practice solely to sports medicine, she has a strong belief that there is an athlete in all of us. This is true if a person is an elite athlete, a weekend warrior, or an occasional walker. Your goals could be to win a race, climb a mountain, lose weight, get your cholesterol down, get some fresh air, or simply do the normal activities of daily living. Dr. Dokson's treatment plans are based on one of her most important goals: Help her patients do the things they love without having to worry about musculoskeletal pain or imbalance. She treats their symptoms, finds the root of the problem, and teaches them to become independent and avoid injury.
Dr. Dokson and her patients work together to get back to full and pain free activity as soon as possible. She often finds her patients begin to pay more attention to their bodies and are able to identify problems and seek treatment in the early stages. It is an exciting process.
Dr. Maya Dokson received her B.A. in Biology from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, and her D.C. from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. She is a member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), through which she promotes patients' rights and chiropractic benefits on a national level.
By lobbying in Washington D.C. with the ACA, she has helped pass legislation regarding chiropractic care for those in the armed forces serving active duty, benefits for armed forces' retirees, veterans and their dependents. She also helped in the passage of laws for the recognition of chiropractic health services for underserved areas.
