Saturday June 28th, Mountain View Chiroractic and Wellness Center will be at the Buckley Log Show located right off State Route 410. It's a free show with food, vendors, games and men playing on logs. Okay...it's probably a little more complex then that, but the guys will be doing log rolling on water, climing a huge log, chopping and so much more. Our booth will have the massage therapist giving a dollar a minute chair massgaes. Dr. Moynihan will be out talking about acupuncture and naturopathic services. This is your opportunitiy to get your questions answered. We'll be giving prizes away and fun give aways. Come join the fun!
It should get up to the high 80's!

Okay, so I've been completely slacking on my Blog, but I promise to do better now. The practice is moving right along. Dr. John and Dr. Dokson went up to Bellevue last night to talk about the Bite of Seattle. Every year we are part of a chiropractic booth that promotes chiropractic care and wellness care. We will be up there July 19th and 20th at the Bite! Come say "hi".
But if you're looking for a good time this weekend...come say hi to us at Meeker Day's. It starts today and ends Sunday June 22. We'll be there meeting and greeting. Hopefully the weather holds up, it's an out door event!
I want to thank all those that have given tesimonials. We will be posting them soon. If you want your testimonial posted on the website please email us at drmarconi@mtviewcwc.com.

We have a good group with up this time. Everyone is nervous and excited at the same time. Yesterday for our workouts we mostly used our bodies to work out. No weights needed. This helped us loosen up our joints for the weeks to come. But today was different story...we used weights and I pushed the ladies hard. I heard a lot of whining but they all pulled through it. We'll see who shows up tomorrow...!!! Kim and I will be working on the individual food for sale at the office. We'll have multiple items such as lasagna, pizza, chicken dishes and soups. All of these will be in the guidelines of the diet plan: no dairy, gluten or sugar added. All individual meals will be from 250 to 450 calories. This will allow the ladies to grab a meal on the go and know it's good for you.

Now that we only have a few more days of the Detox, I want to push everyone to the limits! The number of people in the class has been changing, these next couple days are the days not to miss. Burn some more calories, lose those inches and get motivated. Most of our workouts are a combination of cardiovascular, weight training and core work. This helps to keep the energy up. Yesterday we did jumping push ups (you jump up in the air then drop down for a push up and repeat), that has kicked my butt...actually I mean my arms. My deltoids (shoulder muscles) are so sore I can barely pick up my arm! Lets get sore together!

I was there on Monday working out all by my self...that's okay, it was pretty messy out there. It took me a half an hour to get from Prime Fitness to the office (normally that's only a 30 second drive). Today I went to the gym and I had one participant! Yeah! She told me after our session that it was the hardest workout to date! Great, we worked back and legs...careful sitting! Hopefully everyone will be there tomorrow. I have all the pictures developed and I know everyone would love to see there before and afters at this mid way point.

Recipe: Smoked salmon and dill spread
¼ c. rice cream cheese
1 garlic clove crushed
tsp black pepper
3-4 sprigs of fresh dill chopped
smoked salmon
I mixed everything together, these are all rough measurements. It would also be good with red onion. You can put this on a rice cracker, rice cake or veggies. Very yummy for an appetizer or a spread for a sandwich.
Recipe:Artichoke sundried tomato dip
12-14 oz firm tofu
¼ c. - ½ c. rice/soy cream cheese
¼ c. - ½ c. rice/soy sour cream
1 c. chopped artichokes (from a can or marinated)
¼ c. chopped sundried tomatoes
2-3 garlic cloves crushed
½ c. shredded soy/rice cheese (I used a spicy cheese such as pepper jack)
black pepper
Jalapeño chopped (optional)
Mash tofu the add sour cream and cream cheese till smooth and creamy. Combine the rest of the ingredients. Put in oven safe pan uncovered and cook for 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees.
These past two weeks have flown by. Today we worked out our biceps and did kick boxing. It's always nice to get out any frustrations on a kick boxing bag. Now we can start the weekend right, all relaxed and stress free. We'll be weighing in tomorrow, taking our mid way pictures and measurements.
I would like to congratulate one of our members for losing 6.5 pounds the first week! We are all very proud of her! I can't wait to see what she's done this week.
I'm only down 4.5 pounds so far, I was hoping to lose 3 pounds a week to get to my goal of 15 pounds off. But no matter what I'm feeling good. I'm experiencing with new recipes and having a blast. Last night I made a salmon, cream cheese and dill dip. Eating healthy does not have to be boring!
